Ending the Rental Program

7/9/2019

I started the rental program as a way to quickly build my business at a time when that was an imperative in my life. I believe I have served the local community well in this regard, offering a cut above most other retail shops and stores.

In recent years the incidents of bad credit cards has become more and more tedious to track and follow up on. It has become very time consuming and is especially aggravating when people ignore my requests to call me back multiple times.

I have decided that it is time to stop renting fractional instruments, which will free up my time to develop some other parts of the business. It is my hope that people will understand how much more cost effective it is for them to purchase an instrument from me, and then trade it in for the next size up when the child is ready. Even selling a used fraction instrument for half of what was paid for it results in the long-term cost per month being about half of what it was costing to rent.

I still have plenty of used and new fractional instruments available for sale. Prices are very reasonable, and the quality level is high, with excellent strings, and even Perfection pegs on all the cellos and many of the violins and violas.

For the time being I will still be renting full-size violins, violas, and cellos.

Please contact me with any questions or comments.

Thank you!

My New Octave Mandolin

Decided I had to have one! Purchased this handmade instrument from Richard Noyes in California.

Consolidation

1/22/2018

For years I wanted to start a site just for carbon fiber bows. I finally did it, and it seemed that the day for such a specialty site had passed. So after many hours of work to design a lovely carbon fiber bow site I am moving all of that ordering capability to this site.

Does anyone know how to do internet marketing? I'd like to promote carbon fiber online bow sales, but don't really know what the best strategy is any more.

Blog Post #1

Do I need one more thing to do?

I must confess, I don't know who reads blogs. But I do have a lot of thoughts that seem like they might do well to be expressed in this form.

Marketing used to be easy. Make calls. Send letters. Get business.

Even the early days of ecommerce were easy. Set up a website. Advertise.

Now the competition is fierce, and it is the ones selling the advertising making the big bucks.

Some people say that blogging helps (or they used to!)
