Bernstein Violins
Letter To Parents

Research has linked the study of instrumental music with improved brain development in children, and we believe music to be an essential part of the educational process.
As one who is committed to having your son or daughter learn to play a bowed musical instrument, you have begun to face the cost and quality issues that come up when repairs, accessories, or instrument upgrades are needed. Bernstein Violins is a small company with highly skilled craftsmen paying close attention to the critical aspects of setting up your instrument. Other sources of bowed instruments, such as music stores and large mail-order outfits, will often overlook important final adjustments that are more costly to do in a proper fashion. Our intention is to maximize the playability of all of our instruments and thereby support young players in developing a love of music.
Purchasing a violin or other bowed instrument can cost two hundred dollars, two thousand, or two million. The differences reflect different levels of response, playability, and antique value of a given instrument. Two primary factors that need to be taken into account when purchasing an instrument or bow are what the player can appreciate, and what the buyer can afford. There is little sense in buying an expensive instrument if the player is not at a point of being able to appreciate it, and it is our intention to match your son or daughter up with the instrument and bow that is most appropriate for their level of skill.
